Emerging Dragon

The dragon in the session where we first met the dragon was not happy when the responsible lady took over her session. She wanted a wall hanging celebrating her.

Everything conspired to make the new wall hanging.  In the store I found dragon scale material and in my closet I found the sheer, bursting forth material. The dragon scale material supplied the teeth and ears and tongue as well as the scales.  It even supplied the sleeves and pants of shaman's clothes.

To encourage the dragon part of me to keep speaking up for what she wanted and needed, a shaman part suggested her self, helping to make the dragon's emerging a joyful, well witnessed occasion.

I thank this dragon part for showing up.  It's fun to embody her enthusiasm for coming to the surface.

My Chinese friends say my dragons are Chinese.  They are not the big lumbering treasure hording Western dragon.

My friend Chen Kan says "Not just the dragon is Chinese. Many parts of your picture remind me even the daily life and some ceremony in China! How amazing!"

I'm excited to learn more.

This wall hanging was made on canvas instead of the usual hooked rug backing and finished in 2015.
