Finding Feelings
My feelings are hidden in a deep dark vault. They look like dried up mushrooms. Fortunately my child self knows just what to do - take them out into the sun, plant them in rich red loving soil and water them.
Here's how this wall hanging developed.
The composition came early with the design elements leading to the square vault.
Voile makes the leaves of the plant. The stem is ribbon.
The watering can is made of felt and the water from it is of white net.
Dark green crushed velvet makes the background is and the red soil is made from a fabric with embroidered hearts and sparkles on net.
The frame is also made with embroidered metal and sequins on net, surrounded by different kinds of ribbon on both sides.
In the latest version the background inside the vault is made of a black and gold sequin material gives the flower a better stage. The flower itslef has expanded with the addition of extra yellow petals.
But something is not right. Here is an earlier version. In it the first blooming flower does not have enough magic.
Picturing my feelings as such wonderful beautiful things that deserve to be out in the open, I am much more at peace with them and feel much lighter and more able to function.
"Finding Feelings" was finished in 2012.
