No one told me I would bleed at puberty.  When it happened my mother explained, "This is the curse of Eve for disobeying God in the Garden of Eden."

 

"Huh?"

 

Recently Ive been anxious about being on time for my air flights and I heard, "You will be left behind."  In our IFS session I go to the time of my first blood.

 

And now with much more information my teenage part can talk to God.  "Why have you made me this way, with eggs and the ability to bring new life into the world, only to punish me for this?" my teenage part asks.  She's wrapped up in a snake skin but holds out an egg in offering.

 

 

 

When I  started this wall hangings I wondered, what's the setting for a conversation with God?  I think of some Islamic pattern that's made to remind people of God .  Then I remember a piece of crushed velvet that looks something  like a Islamic temple decoration.  

 

Once I had this mounted on the rod that holds up the wall hanging I noticed the bottom of the cloth was not cut evenly but went up in the center.  Ah, here was the possibility to add something to the bottom.   I had a piece of lace that went with the edges.  As for the spaces between the ends of the fringe, this looked like a good place to put eggs like the ones attached to the edge of a womb.

 

Rivulets of blood down my girl’s ankles suggest mistral blood, which pools into the rich red earth under her feet.  This gives my teenager a place to stand.
