Like the moon, guardians have many guises and hold many secrets. When I started making this one in 2008 I thought of her as a go between between us who view her and the two wall hangings I'd just made, Earth Mother Goddess and the Water and Sky God.

This guardian, herself floats in an in between place, in between the crescent moon at her feet and the full moon over her head. Her aura which is made of bright pink gauze helps her be in two worlds, the one we know and the one we imagine.
This Goddess holds peacock feathers as her symbol of office and they are framed on green oars which to me acknowledges the connection of the moon with the sea and the tides and connects the Goddess with people, especially those who propel their sea going craft by rowing.
