Rainbow Hospitality
The session inspiring this wall hanging began with a man on a scaffolding decorating a temple. Then I could see a different way to decorate our temple using light, the light of a rainbow.
What fun it is to make a temple. I started with the white side of the African hat material and folded the edges over showing the gold on the other side of the material. Then I added another piece of gold material on the top and cut out a place for the temple decorator. The temple wanted more decoration and I found some redish gold lace to add to the ornateness of the building.
Then I began building the rainbow on a piece of rug backing. Some of the red had trails of dots that looked like paint drips - perfect for a painted rainbow.
I tried to find the recording of this session, but it was gone. Working from memory the result of our IfS journey was that the temple tuurned from stone to one of hospitality. So I made the image of a woman welcoming guests to the temple in the place of the stone cutter.
I took this picture thinking this was the final version, but the women asked for more, more jewelry, more make up. Oh, and please take out the purple stripe on the rainbow on the left side. The paint brush hasn't gotten there yet .
"Rainbow Hospitality" still isn't finished in Sept 2014.
